竹林は冬陽背おいて迷いなし

春を待つはやる心に梅一輪

春隣休みの都心空広し

approaching spring is in neighbour /

遠ざかる足音残り冬の塔
friends have left /
remains memories /
see the tower of Tokyo over there///

小径 - road to somewhere

冬小径気質に与う耐え忍び

winter road lead /

someone to somewhere /

摂氏零度 - zero centigrade

空青く摂氏零度は目の痛み

the blue sky spreads /

葉牡丹の分限知りたる白さかな

冬曇り鳩も街灯居場所分け

小春 - Small Spring

流れ雲木々をまぎらす小春の間

As clouds go by slowly /

trees breathe and take rest /

on a small Spring morning ///

鈍色 - glinting surface

鈍色の川面は初陽と祈り受く

The surface of a river /

glints with sun then welcomes /

prayers in New Year ///

残照 - pale moon

冬籠りしたや残照清き月

A morning moon reflects /

pale shine on me /

incline to winter seclusion ///

発会 - New year talk

足取りも軽し年初の夜の道

The way to the next bar /

two gentlemen walk fast /

at new year welcoming meeting///

青月 - blue moon

青月は去らず豊かに夜満ちる

A blue moon stays there /

the night is fulfilled /

with a sense of fertility ///

初詣 - First pray

初詣　老若男女　我祈る

The first visit of the year/

old, young, men and women crowded/

I pray some with these people///

冬樹 - Lasting generations

知る人もなき生き続く木々の冬

No one knows /

how long they will exist /

trees outlive through winter ///

富士山 - Mt.Fuji

冬富士は　孤高に聳え　揺るぎなし

Mt. Fuji in winter /

exists there solemnly /

reflects one's heart ///
