Discussions on the future haven't fixed /

no conclusion won't appear /

only cloud afloat outside ///

富士 - Mt. Fuji

外套の　襟立て眺む　遠き富士

Turned up the collar of my overcoat /

see the Mt. Fuji with snow /

on its head from a distance ///

永代橋 - The Eitai (Eternal generation) bridge

永代の　光を映して　川流る

Reflecting illumination /

of the Eitai -eternal generation bridge /

the river flows ///

出漁 ‐ go fishing

寒き朝　漁師背屈め　川下る

In a cold morning /

a fisherman goes down the river /

with his back bended ///

冬日あくび - flower pot

冬日さし　盛り花かすか　あくびかな

under warm winter sun shower /

hear pleasant flowers yawn /

in a big pot ///

電飾兎- illumination rabbits

留め置かれ　電飾兎　夢を得ず

Set and fixed there /

Illumination rabbits cannot /

dream as they used to be ///

落葉と　ともに手帳も　年替わり

As fallen leaves /

Changing the pocket notebook /

with gratitude at usual year end ///

鵂（みみずく）－Horned owls in daylight

鵂も　冬日を迎え　四苦忘る

Horned owls are relaxing /

under warm winter sunshine /

to forget four major worries ///

緩やかな　冬日も切り分く　ビルの先　

even warm winter sunshine /
was divided sharply /
at the edge of the skyline ///

箱崎の　人行き交いし　年の暮れ

don't know where people come and go /

year end is approaching ///

凍てる月 - Cold moon

凍てつきつ　ビル屹立し　統べる月

　

In frozen air /

skyscrapers stand up /

The moon has been governing those ///

残り柿 - persimmons

残り柿　師走の雨にも　耐えに耐え

　

A few persimmons left on branches /

try to keep themselves as it is /

against rainfall in December ///

仮の森－artificial forest

秋惜しみ　紅葉留まる　仮の森

End of autumn /

red leaves would like to stay here longer /

even in an artificial forest ///

落葉

落ち葉舞い　今日この頃は　雀なく

Fallen leaves are dancing with wind /

notice the absence of sparrows /

scarcely heard their tweet around ///

鵂（みみずく）－Horned owls

鵂も　電飾の前の　客となり

Horned owls are unexpectedly /
welcomed by illumination /
as guests of nights in year end ///

冬芒（すすき）－withered pampas grass

冬芒　朝陽は川面と　共に分け

Withered pampas grass in winter /

sharing morning sun /

with surface of the river ///

寒椿-Camellia sasanqua

寒椿　仰ぎ見　空の青さ知る

Looking up a tree of Camellia /

scattering full of blossoms /

in contrast with blue sky ///

Birds of a feather flock together

忘年の　時を隔てて　集う友

A decade has passed /

meet with old friends at year end /

nothing is necessary but drinks to fill gaps ///

冬空を　映す川面を　上がる船

Reflecting winter sky /

the river is always there /

A towboat cruising up ///

長き夜に降る　黄落の　雨柔らに　　

Gleaming golden leaves /

waiting for the time to fall /

night is long and rain is soft ///

井の頭恩賜公園

紅葉の　恩賜の森の　空青し

Leaves turned into red/

walking trough Inogashira Park forest/

sky is still blue///

Toward the north

トンネルを抜け　紅葉も　より深し

はやて号　盛岡着きて　北の風

樹齢360年

春を待つ　石割桜　細き雨
